A place of vineyards
and history in Valpolicella
and history in Valpolicella
Our winery is located in the Valpantena, the valley closest to Verona, which has always had a great, noble wine tradition.
THE VALPANTENA
Standing among the landscapes of the Valpantena is “La Costa”, as the people of Grezzana and Romagnano call our estate. The Valpantena is a place steeped in history and stories. The origin of the name remains uncertain; the most widely accepted theory is that it comes from “Valle degli Dei”, pantheon, a Roman temple located in Santa Maria in Stelle. According to others, however, the word means “valley of the Pantano”, referring to the muddy, stagnant land that once dominated the valley due to the breaking of the banks of the river that once crossed it. The strong connection with Verona has provided the area with a sharp photograph, shaping it and tying it closely and decisively to the agricultural world.

The valley makes the difference
Our vineyards enjoy a very favorable combination of climatic conditions, to which we add our knowledge, experience and manual skills. The breezes of the Lessini Mountains and those of the Vajo Paradiso and Vaio di Romagnano are crucial factors for the healthiness of the grapes and the success of the grape drying process. The marly soil, originating from the dolomitic limestone rock, allows the roots of the vines to absorb distinctive elements of the terroir which are then found in the powerful flavor, the elegant and harmonious personality and the important tannic structure of our wines.
