The ties between Costa Arente and Valpantena have deep roots: its evolution over time is one with the agricultural transformations in the area.
A benchmark in the Valley
Costa Arente stands on the flat land at the top of the hill. This position has always made it easy to find, a central place in Valpantena and Valpolicella.
It is no coincidence that it was the favorite refuge of the Veronese families among the olive groves and vineyards.
La Costa: the Present and Tradition
Today the old fruit orchards and olive groves have been cut back to give more space to the native grapevines of the Valpolicella: Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. Costa Arente’s present looks toward the future, while remaining faithful to the area and its history: as witnessed by the ancient mulberry tree in the main courtyard, a symbol of the estate’s agricultural tradition.
Always given over to agriculture
Valued for the richness of its soil and for its favorable exposure, in the past Costa Arente was the subject of a dispute between Grezzana and Romagnano.
Wine has been made here for centuries, and although it has undergone a number of transformations, it has always maintained its great vocation for agriculture.
